Crop Circle 2: UK Streetwear Brands Featured in Nines' Film

The Crop Circle 2 film is out now and it's looking like Nines has outdone himself. Just like the first one, he wrote and directed the film, and filled the cast with familiar faces from the culture.

One noticeable difference this time is that there was an obvious emphasis on the film cast wearing UK streetwear brands all throughout the film...

Not only was the move great promotion for the featured brands, it also reflects the substantial progress our home-grown labels have made since Nines dropped 'Crop Circle 1' in April of 2018.

In March of 2018, just a month before 'Crop Circle 1' dropped, Clint did his first Corteiz drop and sold 30 sweatshirts that month.

So it's safe to say no one could've guessed back then that his brand would be featured in Crop Circle 2 five years later, in the form of a legit Nike Air Max 95 collab. It's mental. We've seen Clint pull off some pretty impressive stuff over the past 5 years, which undoubtedly played a big part in the rise of UK streetwear brands across the board.

Throughout the film, we see Benjart multiple times as well as Trapstar London, which is only right considering the roles the two brands have played in furthering British Street fashion. Both have been around for over 15 years, and managed to not only survive, but thrive, all while breaking down barriers and setting precedents that today's up and coming UK streetwear brands get to benefit from.

I noticed that Nike Tech Fleece trackies didn't really get shown any love, which isn't necessarily the most accurate reflection of London at the moment. But it could easily be said that that's where things are headed as the hype dies down and more of us look towards home-grown brands. Instead of a Nike Tech Fleece, we see Nines rocking a Lizzy Road Tech.

One brand that can be seen prominently featured throughout the film is a British streetwear brand called Loud. We see each main character wearing it at one point or another.

Speaking of merch, Knucks made a quick cameo in his No Days Off beanie.

While Nines shows love to the Manchester based performance brand Twinzz, sporting one of their caps.

And the hoods favourite vlogger, Darnell Vlogs does a cameo in a pistachio green tracksuit from his clothing line Homies Where The Heart Is.

Nines seems to be setting himself up to become the next big film producer from the ends. With shows like Netflix's Top Boy and Amazon Prime's Jungle taking UK hood shows to another level, an appetite is quickly developing for high quality dramas from the ends. And with examples Rapman, who went from creating the Shiro's story Youtube series, to writing and directing the movie Blue Story, to then creating the Supacell Netflix series about normal people from the ends with superpowers, we can see the possibilities are endless for a talented guy like like Nines. Hopefully we don't have to wait another 5 years for Crop Circle 3!
